Tucson police ignore businesses if they don’t pay alarm fee

Tucson Police Department responded to less than half of the alarms in Tucson last year. Whent they did respond, the response times where as much as 2 to 3 hours after the alarm was activated. Tucson Alarm Company found this to be unacceptable and has now went to guard respinse. Guards respond to every alarm they are dispatched to. Guards respond during thunder storms, TPD does not. Guards do not require you to respond to an alarm and put you at risk, TPD requires that you respond within 1 hour and then doesn’t gaurantee they will show up. Cost for a guard response is $25 per response, billed directly to your alarm company. Do you set your alarm half the time? Then why are you using a security company who still dispatches a police department who fails to respond half the time? More and more companies will start using guards to repsond. Tucson Police Department has priced themselves out of the game and they are unreliable as a means of responding to crime. Companies who continue to lie to their customers and privide a false sense of security, that TPD will save the day, will continue to lose customers to companies who switched to guard service.
