It’s time to ditch McCain’s negative influence, not embrace it

MCRC Briefs makes mention of an upcoming fundraiser referred to as a “Red Hot & Blue BBQ.” The event, benefits two “moderate” incumbent state Representatives, Jill Norgaard (LD-18) and Maria Syms (LD-28) and one retread candidate, Shawnna Bolick, who has switched legislative districts for a better shot at the political golden ring. She’s previously missed the mark twice in her old hunting ground.

The event, featuring Diamondbacks legend Luis Gonzalez will be hosted at the Paradise Valley home of Debbie and Bill Cheatham.

Many remember Bill Cheatham as the McCain Inc. backed choice, clobbered in his attempt to unseat conservative Rob Haney as Maricopa County Republican Chairman. Cheatham not only failed, he failed miserably.

Haney, the former Legislative District 11 chairman (now reconfigured as 28), was swept to victory garnering almost 70 percent of the ballots cast in the county race. His slate of officers also won overwhelmingly. The six Maricopa County Committee by-law changes were also big winners, as each won by over 1,000 votes.

The full account of that Jan.8, 2011 meeting can be read here.

And while we’re on the topics of actual conservatives vs. the McCain influence, women candidates, and the 2018 election cycle, take a look at the most recent polling figures in the Arizona U.S. Senate race, provided by Phoenix-based OH Predictive Insights. Conservative Dr. Kelli Ward, running an issues centered campaign, crushes CD-2 incumbent Martha McSally in the primary. Outside of her left-leaning Pima County base, McSally’s name ID is low. Revily polling positions Ward as the front-runner in an early match up with Democrat Kyrsten Sinema (CD-9), who has magically transformed herself from radical to mainstream. (The linked post was written just before Jeff Flake shut down his reelection campaign.)

This Arizona race will be defining not only for our state, but will have far-reaching consequences nationally. .After years in the Republlicrat wilderness, we finally have a conservative candidate. Do what you can to get Dr. Kelli Ward elected.
