Reagan Foundation’s big blunder

Who are the decision makers?

Receiving an invitation to the Reagan Foundation and Institute to hear a speech on “Returning to the principles and purposes of a great national political party,” would certainly strike the right chord with conservatives. The event includes dinner in the Air Force One Pavilion following the program. Tickets are reasonably priced at $75 for the Nov. 27th soirée.

So what’s the catch?

The guest of honor.

He’s someone Arizonans know well as a crude, hot-tempered, erratic, scheming, ethically challenged individual, who has made a career of colluding with liberals, worked to purge conservative elected precinct committeemen from the AZ Republican Party and relentlessly hammers President Donald Trump. What he knows about principles would fit in a thimble.

President Ronald Reagan was a man of integrity, good humor and grace. He possessed a spirit of optimism with which he infused the nation. When giving his Jan. 11, 1989 farewell address, he spoke of the Shining City On A Hill.” It was impossible not to feel the pride in our country that he so richly articulated.

In this Oct. 27, 1964 speech, A Time for Choosing,” prior to Reagan’s own political career, he spoke on behalf of Barry Goldwater’s presidential campaign. It’s been viewed by nearly 2 million people.

This montage shows the good-humored Reagan at his best. What a contrast to the Nov. 27th guest!
